Matthew Scott is an emergency preparedness and health system resilience leader with over 10 years of experience supporting communities and healthcare institutions as they prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. He currently serves as Director of Emergency Services and Enterprise Resilience at NYU Langone Health leading a diverse emergency management and hospital operations portfolio for one of the nation’s leading academic health systems. During the Covid-19 pandemic his team coordinated enterprise-wide response and continuity of operations efforts for the health system across clinical, research and academic mission areas. Prior to NYU Langone, Matthew served in the federal government with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security managing critical infrastructure preparedness and disaster recovery programs alongside state and local partners.
Matthew joined the ARHC Board in September 2025 as the Healthcare Resilience Officer, guiding ARHC’s approach to rebuilding healthcare systems in disaster-impacted communities and advising on continuity of care, facility readiness, and healthcare system resilience after disasters. Matthew received his bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University and holds a Master of Public Administration in Health Policy and Management from New York University.
